Meet me in the alley, and bring the Lace

My fixation with lace is a little problematic. Well to some at least. Blocking two types of lace together can be a challenge, yet a rewarding appearance if done right. I love doing it. Lace on lace is denim on denims pretty little sister. I added in my one and only maroon velvet skirt to this mix to really create the perfect delicate contrast for my lace on lace upper half.

It's Almost Spring

Oh you gotta love those sunny winter days in Southern California. I actually prefer cold weather regions but being born and raised in this alluring atmosphere I can't help but really let loose on those perfect days. There is a misconception that in places of nicer weather Fashion style is minimal because of the lack to layer in such great weather. I disagree with this statement. Layering can be done in any climate. The challenge yet fun aspect of layering in warm weather is pairing together contrasting pieces with different colors, patterns, fabrics, and embellishment. On days of beautiful climate like this one I like to wear strong individual pieces, that also coincide with each other and collectively look and feel exactly how the air feels.. radiant. #teenvogue

Neighborhood Watch

Sometimes the best outfits come about when wardrobe options are limited. By that I mean when life gets a little congested with work, studies, and travelling the laundry pile in turn gets stacked up to the ceiling leaving the closet bare with only a few items. For me, when I am put in this pickle, a limited wardrobe puts me in a challenge that results in awesome outfits. And I am quite certain this can relate to many others. Maybe its the fact that when forced to choose within parameters we are not overwhelmed by the entirety of our wardrobe, liberating us to just go with out instinct with pairing outfits. Who knows. But my pattern blocking and time to accessorize goes in full throttle when I should be doing laundry.. :) #teenvogue

Blessed Bottoms

Never is it too dull of a day to shine in some high waisted bell bottoms. I came across these lovely pants while I was studying abroad in London almost two years ago. They will never leave my closets sight. Sheer bell bottoms are the perfect element to add retro flair to an outfit. You can always pair a simple tank with this 70's trend or go the route I like to take and add a lace bustier. Thats the thing about taking risks. It starts with one choice, which sparks a growth of backbone, and then leads to a spiral of risk taking. And with Fashion, the possibilities are endless :)

Field Day

I absolutely love layering outfit elements that pop out in unexpected ways. I have been pulling over high socks since my younger days, wearing keds, and wanting to add an extra flare to my feet I dug through my parents sock drawer for those longer beauties. I am thrilled that knee highs came full circle and are now recycled back into this generations lifestyle. With the right outfit they give such a compliment to the leg and give an entire look a little pinch of vintage warmth. The knee high came to light around the 60's and 70's when the mini skirt needed a partner in crime. I loved pairing this skirt with knee highs because while the mini skirt is clearly there, the skirts added long chiffon fabric layer gives the perfect modern flare to my entire look. And with my Vintage gold bodysuit I did not have to worry about tucking in my blouse every few seconds.

Waisted Winter

Sporting some short high-waisted shorts is my cherished defiant act during the Fall and Winter season's. Strolling through shredded spaces of Fall's leftovers is a distinctive and inspiring time of year.   The warm colors of this season bring out warm tendencies of Fashion. But I will rarely tuck away my high-waisted shorts. Throwing in a loose polka dot blouse creates casual height and balances an equal focal point with my top and bottom. Of course, a plaid wool blend blazer is essential to keep me a little cozy. To top off my November get up I paired a wide brim straw hat and brown braided suede heels.
