Meet me in the alley, and bring the Lace

My fixation with lace is a little problematic. Well to some at least. Blocking two types of lace together can be a challenge, yet a rewarding appearance if done right. I love doing it. Lace on lace is denim on denims pretty little sister. I added in my one and only maroon velvet skirt to this mix to really create the perfect delicate contrast for my lace on lace upper half.

Whatever your High may Be

Whatever substance, tune, view, stretch, or dose of air that takes our mind to a new place of everlasting awe and fascination is the truest gift of experience. For me it hits me in many different practices, all exercising my mind, body, and soul to erase negative energy. For everyone it's a feeling we should all seek to find in whatever activity that may be. Cleansing for clarity, purpose, and integrity we should all be getting high everyday. I love this Truly Madly Deeply top because it embodies the beauty of extracting that high that keeps us living in harmony with life's questions and mysteries. Although this top clearly displays mind altering substances, I believe getting high embodies endless practices and ways to explore the art of every day life.

Rainbows, Strip Malls, America

Although its a contradicting thought, I believe the 90's was an alluring decade for Fashion. All kinds of transitions started- the rejection of Fashion with popularized grunge, the 'Power Look', and brands becoming new staples of style. The most admirable fact of the 90's is that this age marked the beginning of recycling. Bringing back the old and mixing it in with the new to create brilliantly twisted looks. Of course throughout history each decade of Fashion forerunners took inspiration from the past (and always will), but the 90's gave birth to the practice of mixing high and low, recycling styles, and combining the old with the new. 

Now two decades later Fashionistas in all levels of society are salvaging Vintage styles and exploring thrift stores for antique finds. I found this 90's floral romper at a Vintage re-sale shop, scored the jackpot with this one! It is hands down the most comfortable piece in my closet. The print is very lovely as well, its appearance is more of a painted floral pattern. To mix in a contemporary element I slipped on my U.S.A wedges, part of a local San Diego Designers collection- Michael Walrond. To top off I paired an American Apparel knitted infinity scarf.  Blending different pops of classic and peculiar is what I do best :) #teenvogue

Waisted Winter

Sporting some short high-waisted shorts is my cherished defiant act during the Fall and Winter season's. Strolling through shredded spaces of Fall's leftovers is a distinctive and inspiring time of year.   The warm colors of this season bring out warm tendencies of Fashion. But I will rarely tuck away my high-waisted shorts. Throwing in a loose polka dot blouse creates casual height and balances an equal focal point with my top and bottom. Of course, a plaid wool blend blazer is essential to keep me a little cozy. To top off my November get up I paired a wide brim straw hat and brown braided suede heels.

Polka Dot Muah

If one has, or ever will witness my closet, they would understand that I have a serious fixation on small circles printed across clothing. Polka dots- a pattern so timeless and of course, adorable. More importantly it is simple yet boundless in dot size and color combination. I stumbled across this red and white gem and immediately fell in love. "The louder the better" is what this blouse whispered to me.

Matching my blouse with a yellow skirt projected perfect contrast. A soft yellow with light pleats does not overpower. My blue Mary Jane’s exude charming Vintage appreciation. This outfit is distinguished by my pattern blocking. All sections that are strong visual statements in their own.

Falling in Love

For Southern Californians this time of the year truly awakens us out of our bubble of sunglasses and tank tops. Some of us love the change in weather, while others sit inside wishing for the sun to come around again. I am an individual that you can definitely count on seeing out in the street dancing in the rain. 

Although we experience no snow down here, the misty breeze is pleasant enough. That is why some high-waisted shorts were still suitable for this blue Tuesday, and Graphic T's are visually stimulating, fitting in with every season. 

There is a section in my closet that I gaze at throughout the year, longing for the day when I can pull out those pieces. This would be my collection of  cozy cardigans and eclectic coats. I actually temporarily rented this knitted beige vest from my boyfriends father, I promised I would return it after Fall. I chose on this day to wear my Obey green army jacket which is full of quality and warmth, making me feel elevated all throughout the day. This is a piece of my wardrobe that is timeless. This coat will never leave my sight. Nor will the Fall time.
